- AMI EISA Configuration Utility - Version 1.4c
- Release Notes
- July 14, 1992
-
-
- This document outlines the new features that were added and bugs that were
- fixed in Version 1.4c of AMI ECU. The previous version of AMI ECU was 1.4b
- which was released on 1/21/92. Most of the changes to the ECU are related
- to a new revision of the EISA Specification from BCPR. The ECU is now
- compatible with EISA Specification Version 3.12.
-
- When configuring multiple Adaptec 174X boards version 1.4B of the ECU would
- sometimes hang. This problem has been corrected and tested thoroughly.
-
- Version 1.4C supports the new VERSION statement in the BOARD block of CFG
- files. The AMI ECU 1.4C will display a warning if the version level of a
- CFG file is greater than 2.01.
-
- Version 1.4C will accept the new SIZING statement in the BOARD block of CFG
- files.
-
- Version 1.4C supports the two new board categories CPU and JOY, for CPU
- cards and joystick boards.
-
- Version 1.4C supports the expanded IOPORT statement definition. A single
- port may receive multiple initialization values in sequence by defining the
- port multiple times, each with a separate index.
-
- Version 1.4C supports the SHOW=EXP statement in FUNCTION blocks of CFG
- files. This causes the function to be displayed only if the ECU is running
- in Advanced/Dealer mode. This mode is enabled by starting the ECU with the
- command line switch /a.
-
- Version 1.4C supports the new EWORD size for DMA blocks in CFG files.
-
- Version 1.4C supports the new CACHE=WRITEBACK statement in MEMORY blocks of
- CFG files.
-
- Version 1.4C supports the new type of BOARD statement that can occur
- anywhere within a CFG file. This type of BOARD statement serves to change
- the name of the board as it is displayed on screen.
-
- Under version 1.4B, PORTADR statements from different boards could
- interfere with each other. This problem has been corrected in version
- 1.4C.
